Reinforcing our commitment to understanding, accessible and personalised client support.
At Cohesion, we believe financial planning should be about more than providing advice. It should be understanding, accessible and centred around each person’s circumstances.
That’s why we’re proud to have committed to the Financial Vulnerability Charter through the Consumer Duty Alliance.
The Financial Vulnerability Charter recognises that anyone can experience vulnerable circumstances at different points in life. This may be because of illness, bereavement, divorce, caring responsibilities, redundancy, financial abuse or many other unexpected life events. It also recognises that vulnerability relates to a person’s circumstances rather than who they are, and that professional firms should adapt their approach to help clients achieve good outcomes.
For us, committing to the Financial Vulnerability Charter reinforces the way we believe financial planning should be delivered. It means continuing to:
- communicate in clear, accessible language
- take time to understand each client’s individual circumstances
- treat every client with dignity and respect
- adapt our approach where additional support is needed
- act with sensitivity while maintaining confidentiality.
These commitments reflect our values and reinforce our ongoing commitment to delivering good client outcomes through Consumer Duty.
What the Financial Vulnerability Charter means for our clients
The Financial Vulnerability Charter sets out the standards you can expect from firms that have committed to it. The accompanying Consumer Guide explains what the Charter is, why it matters and the commitments firms make to support clients when they need it most.
Whether you’re experiencing a significant life event, supporting a loved one or simply feel you would benefit from a little more time or guidance, we’re here to help.

Claire Mellon, Co-Founder and Chief Client Officer of Cohesion, said:
‘No one expects to experience difficult circumstances, but many of us will at some point in our lives. During those times, feeling listened to, understood and supported can make a real difference. Committing to the Financial Vulnerability Charter reinforces our belief that every client deserves to be treated with empathy, respect and understanding, whatever their circumstances.’
