Cohesion contributes to Consumer Duty Alliance Social Media webinar

Exploring how advisers can approach social media with confidence, clarity and compliance, while supporting client understanding and good outcomes.

Social media continues to be an area of uncertainty for many financial advisers.

Regulation, responsibility and reputation all play a role and for some firms this can lead to hesitation or inactivity. At the same time, the way clients seek and engage with information is changing, creating a growing need for clear, accessible and consistent communication.

As part of this wider conversation, Cohesion is pleased to be contributing to an upcoming webinar hosted by the Consumer Duty Alliance, focused on how advisers can approach social media with confidence in a regulated environment.

The session will explore the practical realities advisers face, including how to navigate financial promotions, understand the boundaries between education, guidance and advice, and build a structured approach to communication without the need for dedicated marketing support.

Importantly, it will also consider the role social media can play in supporting good outcomes under Consumer Duty.

Social media, when used well, becomes part of how firms support client understanding, not just how they promote their services.

Claire Mellon, Co-founder and Chief Client Officer at Cohesion Financial Solutions, will be contributing to the panel discussion. Alongside her role as a practitioner, Claire brings a marketing and communications perspective as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, with experience supporting financial services firms in communicating with clarity, building trust and improving client understanding.

Her contribution will focus on how social media can be used as an extension of client communication, helping to simplify complexity and support more confident engagement with financial advice.

The session will take place on 5 May 2026 and forms part of the Consumer Duty Alliance Practitioners’ Forum, which brings together professionals across the financial services sector to share practical approaches and good practice. To register for the webinar please click here.
